Best practices to be sure your computer and tech are ready for recording
Use the right Internet Browser Use Google Chrome as your Internet browser, or alternately use Microsoft Edge.
Close other apps and browser windows Close all non-critical computer applications and Internet browser windows/tabs so the computer can dedicate processing power and bandwidth to the recording platform.
Connection/communication issues? If you have any connection issues or difficulty communicating with the producer, call (888) 655-1213.
Quiet background please Arrange for a quiet environment (close the door, shut off fans or AC, inform colleagues, close windows, etc.).
The right shirt/top/jacket to clip-on the microphone Wear a shirt/blouse/dress with buttons, or some sort of lapel or placket (the flap with button holes), onto which a lavalier microphone can be clipped. Avoid loose-fitting or thin fabric, or sagging necklines.
Keep your webcam eye-level Make sure your webcam can be eye-level. You may need to raise your laptop or webcam with a stand or stack of books or a box.
Position the script/teleprompter close to webcam Even with a webcam which is not built-in (plugged-in), the browser window with your script on the teleprompter must be directly below the camera for best results.
